Trinidad is a UNESCO World Heritage colonial town between the Escambray mountains and the Caribbean: cobbled streets, live-salsa casas de la música, and trails up to Topes de Collantes. It is one of the most-loved stops on any Cuba circuit.
Two to three nights cover the historic center, Playa Ancón (12 km south) and a day of hiking or the Valle de los Ingenios. Here the gap between an "okay" casa and an exceptional one is wide — ask for photos of the courtyard and bathroom before confirming.
